About the role

You will be accountable for maximising IAG Cargo's commercial performance by leading a team responsible for developing and executing inventory and revenue management strategies across the network. The role combines strategic revenue optimisation, customer contract management, transformation leadership and people development to deliver sustainable growth, exceed financial plan targets and support the long-term evolution of Revenue Management.

The following will be key to your success:

  • Lead and inspire a team of analysts to deliver contribution targets through their role delivery.
  • Define and deliver Inventory Strategies to ensure the team delivers optimal inventory setup and optimisation, based on historical and market information.
  • Regular and ad-hoc analysis to drive key decision-making activity in Revenue Management at IAG Cargo.

What you’ll do

  • Lead, develop and inspire a team of Revenue Management analysts, creating a high-performance culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement and delivery of commercial objectives.
  • Define and execute inventory and revenue management strategies to maximise contribution, yield, load factor and overall network performance across assigned route groups and regions.
  • Develop and deliver network-level strategies to exceed Financial Plan targets, balancing route, trade lane and regional priorities to optimise overall network profitability.
  • Negotiate and manage commercial agreements with freight forwarding and postal customers, ensuring partnerships deliver sustainable network benefit and support wider business objectives.
  • Lead the implementation, optimisation and ongoing performance management of Joint Business partnerships, including Qatar Airways and Malaysia Airlines, ensuring delivery of agreed commercial, operational and customer benefits.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Product, Sales and other commercial functions to ensure inventory and revenue management strategies are aligned to customer requirements whilst remaining operationally deliverable.
  • Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Revenue Management processes, ensuring robust governance and consistent application across the function.
  • Support offshore teams through process development, training, coaching and knowledge sharing to drive consistency, efficiency and high-quality delivery of Revenue Management activities.
  • Lead transformational initiatives within Revenue Management, delivering revenue growth, cost savings, process simplification and enhanced decision-making capability.
  • Deliver regular and ad-hoc performance reporting, analysis and recommendations to support senior leadership decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Ensure optimal utilisation of IAG Cargo capacity through effective inventory management, demand forecasting and strategic allocation decisions.

What you’ll bring to IAG Cargo:

  • Strong analytical ability, judgement and decision-making with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Able to find solutions to complex, cross-functional problems.
  • Self-starter, able to work on own initiative, make strong commercial decisions and implement change effectively.
  • Ability to coach and develop a team in a high-performance leadership environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to a wide range of audiences.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to develop and execute strategies that deliver revenue growth, maximise network contribution and exceed Financial Plan targets.
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous and fast-paced environments, demonstrating resilience, sound judgement and adaptability.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across commercial, operational, customer, partner and executive teams.
  • Strong transformation and change leadership capability, with the ability to drive process improvement, revenue growth, cost saving and enhanced ways of working.

Skills and Experience:

Essential Experience

  • Rapid analysis and Commercial decision making.
  • Experience in Revenue Management.
  • Experienced people manager with a passion for people development.
  • Ability to manage conflicting and changing demands in a high pressure environment.
  • Fluent in using PowerPoint for storytelling to peers and senior management.
  • Effective stakeholder management.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Expertise in using Microsoft Excel, Tableau or similar visualization software.

Desirable Experience

  • Understanding of the airfreight business.
  • Airline inventory management/revenue management experience.
