Investment Director – Renewable Energy | London
Infra-Be is exclusively retained by a well-capitalised UK private investment group building a new renewable energy business from the ground up.
This is a senior, hands-on role at the centre of a significant new venture. You'll work directly with the principals, act as the trusted voice on every major investment and commercial decision, and help shape how the business is built.
The role
- Shape strategy: when to contract and when to acquire, what to build in-house and what to partner on, and how to structure JVs
- Act as the internal investment judgement, assessing generation assets, stress-testing advisers' models and diligence, and giving clear, evidenced recommendations
- Evaluate and challenge recommendations from specialist partners on battery storage and private network infrastructure, making sure they work for the business
- Lead negotiations on PPAs, acquisitions, site agreements and partnership terms through to close
- Help steer the regulatory and supply set-up needed to deliver power to the customer

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
