Role: Investigations and Governance Officer
Salary: £42,203.35 (gross) per annum, with a fixed sum allowance of £1,195.
Location: Head Office – Newcastle
Duration: Fixed Term Contract – 12 Months Maternity cover
The Labour Party is looking to recruit a Investigations and Governance Officer. The post-holder will be responsible for conducting disciplinary investigations relating to individual members and/or groups of members, and preparing high-quality reports for the relevant decision-making panel (or panels). The post holder will also work with colleagues and stakeholders wherever necessary to effectively progress a caseload of investigations, which may include informal resolution of complaints. The post holder will also support and advise on governance matters, as may be required from time to time.
Responsibilities
- Conducting disciplinary investigations relating to individual members and/or groups of members.
- Preparing high-quality reports for the relevant decision-making panel (or panels).
- Working with colleagues and stakeholders to effectively progress a caseload of investigations.
- Informal resolution of complaints when necessary.
- Supporting and advising on governance matters as required.

Requirements
- Strong experience of managing complaints, conducting investigations or fact-finding, and reaching evidence-based outcomes.
- Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, concise, and comprehensive investigation reports.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload, prioritise competing demands, and deliver work accurately within agreed timescales.
- Experience of working with internal and external stakeholders in a complex organisation.

Working Arrangement
The Labour Party’s standard working arrangement is that all employees based in headquarters in London/Newcastle attend their contracted office four days per week, Monday to Thursday. Home working is only authorised on Fridays.
