Level: Recently Qualified MRICS Surveyor to 2 years PQE
The Opportunity
An established boutique property consultancy based in London’s West End is looking to appoint a recently qualified MRICS Surveyor to join its Investment Agency team.
The role will focus predominantly on the Industrial & Logistics investment market, while providing exposure to transactions across a range of commercial property sectors.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified surveyor looking to develop a career in investment agency. The firm is open to candidates from an Investment Agency, Valuation & Advisory or analytical background and is particularly interested in individuals who can demonstrate strong commercial instincts, analytical ability and a genuine interest in the investment market.
Working directly alongside senior members of the business, the successful candidate will gain hands-on experience across acquisitions and disposals, investment analysis, client advisory and business development.
The Role
The successful candidate will become an integral member of the Investment Agency team, with responsibilities including:
- Advising on the acquisition and disposal of commercial investment assets, with a particular focus on Industrial & Logistics.
- Identifying and sourcing both on-market and off-market investment opportunities.
- Undertaking investment appraisals, pricing analysis and assessment of potential returns.
- Analysing occupational and investment markets, including rental evidence, comparable transactions and investment yields.
- Preparing investment reports, marketing materials, pitch documents and client presentations.
- Assisting with and, as experience develops, managing investment sale and acquisition processes.
- Undertaking detailed due diligence on potential acquisitions.
- Developing a strong understanding of individual assets, occupational fundamentals and their underlying investment characteristics.
- Building relationships with investment agents, investors, developers, property companies, funds, private equity firms and other market participants.
- Providing clients with market intelligence and investment recommendations.
- Working closely with senior colleagues on transactions while progressively taking greater responsibility for client relationships and deal execution.
- Contributing to the identification of new business opportunities and the continued growth of the firm.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Ideal Candidate
The role is particularly suited to a recently qualified MRICS Surveyor who has developed strong property fundamentals and now wants to build a career within investment agency.
Candidates may currently be working within:
Investment / Agency – someone already exposed to transactional work who wants greater responsibility, broader client exposure and the opportunity to develop within a boutique environment.
Valuation – a recently qualified surveyor with strong valuation fundamentals who understands property cash flows, comparable evidence and investment methodology and is looking to move into a more transactional role.
Analytical / Investment Analysis – someone with strong financial and property analysis skills who wants greater exposure to clients, transactions and the wider investment market.
Direct Industrial & Logistics investment experience would be advantageous but is not essential. More important is a demonstrable interest in the sector and the ability to understand the underlying fundamentals of property as an investment.

Skills & Experience
The successful candidate is likely to demonstrate:
- Recently qualified MRICS, ideally with approximately 0–2 years’ post-qualified experience.
- A strong grounding in commercial property fundamentals.
- Experience gained within investment agency, commercial agency, valuation, investment analysis or a related discipline.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- A good understanding of property valuation and investment appraisal.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with property and financial data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Commercial curiosity and an interest in understanding what drives investment value.
- Confidence and credibility when dealing with clients and other market professionals.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a transactional environment.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to build relationships across the market.
The Person
Beyond technical experience, the firm is looking for someone who is bright, commercial, personable and ambitious.
The successful candidate should enjoy analysing opportunities but also want to develop the relationship-driven side of investment agency. They will be expected to get out into the market, inspect properties, meet agents and clients, develop their network and progressively become involved in originating opportunities.
This is therefore unlikely to suit someone looking for a purely analytical or valuation-based position. It is designed for an individual who wants to combine their technical grounding with the commercial and relationship-led skills required to become a successful investment agent.
“It took my CV and asked me questions relevant to understanding what kind of jobs to suggest for me. Suggestions were almost perfect. Jobs were exactly what I’ve been looking for.”
