Columbia Lake Partners - Investment Analyst
Columbia Lake Partners (CLP) is a specialist European venture debt fund providing structured growth capital to high-growth technology companies. We combine commercial judgement with disciplined credit analysis and a strong focus on downside protection.
We're looking for an Investment Analyst who is curious about technology businesses and motivated to develop expertise in venture debt investing.
You'll gain hands-on experience in financial modelling, credit underwriting, transaction execution, and portfolio monitoring, with your analysis directly informing investment decisions. As part of a small, collaborative team, you'll work closely with experienced investors, receive regular feedback, and take on increasing responsibility as you develop towards Associate level.
What you'll do
Financial modelling and credit analysis
- Build financial models and assess business performance, cash flow, liquidity, and key credit risks.
- Conduct downside and sensitivity analysis to inform investment recommendations.
Transaction execution
- Support the underwriting of new investments through financial and commercial analysis.
- Prepare Investment Committee materials and contribute to discussions on investment structure and downside protection.
Portfolio monitoring
- Analyse portfolio company performance, identify emerging risks, and contribute to quarterly reviews.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
