Primary Investments Analyst

London | Private Markets Investment Firm

Salary £85,000 plus competitive bonus

With decades of experience investing in private markets, the firm partners with institutional investors including pension funds, endowments, foundations, insurance companies, and sovereign investors.

The Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity to begin your investment career within a highly regarded Primary Investments team in London.

As an Analyst, you will work alongside experienced investment professionals evaluating leading private equity and venture capital funds across Europe and international markets. You will gain exposure to some of the world's most sought-after investment managers and develop a deep understanding of what drives long-term investment performance.

From day one, you will contribute to live investment decisions, conduct manager due diligence, analyse fund performance, and support investment recommendations presented to senior decision-makers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate private equity and venture capital fund investment opportunities, assessing manager quality, strategy, differentiation, and long-term potential.
  • Analyse fund and portfolio performance, track records, attribution data, and value creation drivers.
  • Contribute research, analysis, and recommendations to formal investment papers and presentations.
  • Develop market intelligence across private equity, venture capital, growth, and buyout markets.
  • Conduct detailed due diligence on prospective investment opportunities.
  • Build relationships with investment managers and industry participants.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across global investment teams on research, analysis, and investment decisions.

You will likely have:

  • Strong academic credentials and a demonstrated record of achievement.
  • A genuine interest in private equity, venture capital, and financial markets.
  • Excellent analytical, research, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Experience using AI-enabled tools to improve research, analysis, and productivity.
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn from experienced investors.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a professional approach to stakeholder engagement.
