Investment Analyst – Build-to-Rent
Location: London
Experience: 1–3 years

The opportunity
We are partnering with a well-established real estate investment manager to appoint an Investment Analyst to its growing Build-to-Rent team in London.
Working directly with the Head of Structuring, the successful candidate will gain broad exposure across investment underwriting, asset management, portfolio financing, and investor reporting. This is a highly visible role offering direct interaction with joint venture partners, investors, and senior stakeholders.
The position would suit a commercially minded analyst who enjoys combining detailed financial analysis with hands-on involvement in the performance and strategy of a residential portfolio.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare investor presentations and support the team throughout live investment processes.
- Build, maintain, and enhance detailed cash flow models.
- Monitor actual performance against business plans and analyse variances to support asset-management decisions.
- Act as a day-to-day point of contact for joint venture partners.
- Assist in developing investment and asset-management strategies to optimise portfolio performance.
- Prepare and present detailed quarterly investor reports, providing clear insights into historic performance and actionable recommendations.
- Work closely with the property-management team, using operational and leasing data to inform asset strategy, reporting, and covenant monitoring.
- Develop a detailed understanding of individual assets, their business plans, and their specific commercial drivers.
- Help organise site visits for joint venture partners and prospective investors.
- Support portfolio financing, refinancing, and disposal processes where required.
- Undertake ad hoc analysis and take ownership of additional workstreams as they arise.

About you
We are looking for someone with:
- One to three years of relevant experience in real estate private equity, investment banking, or a comparable analytical environment.
- Exposure to portfolio asset management or transaction execution, which would be particularly valuable.
- Strong financial-modelling skills and advanced Excel capability.
- A sound understanding of real estate and corporate finance, including debt structures and covenant mechanics.
- The ability to turn detailed portfolio and operating data into clear commercial insights and recommendations.
- Strong communication skills, with the confidence to engage directly with joint venture partners, investors, and senior stakeholders.
- A proactive, self-starting approach and the ability to manage competing priorities calmly under pressure.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled productivity tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Granola.
- A strong academic background; an advanced degree in finance or real estate would be beneficial but is not essential.
