Investment Analyst

Our client, a prominent asset manager, seeks an experienced Investment Analyst with a minimum of 3 years' relevant experience to support the Firm’s alternative investment business across hedge funds, private markets, and digital assets. The business invests in external managers.

The successful candidate will have experience analysing hedge funds and/or private markets. Digital assets experience is highly desirable, but not essential. Strong statistical and quantitative analysis skills, including performance attribution and portfolio analytics, is a must.

The role will suit a candidate currently working for an investment consultant, fund or funds or multi-manager platform, institutional allocator or family office doing external manager selection.

Salary is flexible and dependent on experience, up to a maximum of £90,000 + performance-related, discretionary bonus + benefits.

Key Responsibilities

Investment Analysis & Due Diligence

  • Source, evaluate, and monitor hedge fund, private markets, and digital asset managers across strategies
  • Identify risk and opportunities across funds and themes, both top-down and bottom-up, through day-to-day investment monitoring
  • Manage fund manager relationships with a focus on monthly qualitative and quantitative monitoring, including due diligence calls and meetings with fund providers
  • Produce statistical reports, performance attribution, and risk metric monitoring on investment funds and portfolios across hedge funds, private markets, and digital assets
  • Run portfolio optimisers and portfolio analytics to arrive at ideal allocations for fund of funds portfolios
  • Compile fund due diligence reports and investment recommendation materials using internal and external data sources, supporting Investment Committee decision-making
  • Attend and record investment meetings and calls with fund providers; maintain internal investment databases
  • Support market analysis, data gathering, and commentary preparation as part of the investment process
  • Use quantitative skills and innovative thinking to drive fund analytics and process improvements
  • Complete ad-hoc operational tasks
