2027 Summer Internship – Investment Analyst, ETFs & Passive Investments
Location: London – minimum two days per week in the office
Dates: End of June to end of August 2027
Contract: Full-time summer internship
About the opportunity
Interested in financial markets and how investment portfolios are built? Join a leading global asset management firm for a summer internship within its UK passive investments team.
The team manages investment strategies designed to track market indices across different asset classes, including exchange-traded funds (ETFs). You’ll gain practical insight into how these funds are constructed, managed and monitored, while developing your understanding of equity and bond markets.
The programme combines hands-on projects with speaker sessions, networking opportunities and support from experienced mentors and managers. Subject to performance, successful interns may be offered a place on the firm’s graduate programme the following year.
What you’ll be doing
- Observing portfolio events and trades to understand how ETFs are constructed and managed to meet their investment objectives.
- Monitoring bond, equity and ETF markets, assessing relative value and supporting investment recommendations aligned with portfolio strategies.
- Conducting product and market analysis, including fund comparisons and performance assessments against peers and benchmarks.
- Joining meetings with portfolio managers and supporting research into portfolio construction, benchmark management and ETF implementation.
- Working with client-facing teams to prepare commentary on economic developments, investment performance and portfolio strategies.
- Supporting portfolio engineering and capital markets colleagues with research, analysis and ad hoc projects.

Who we’re looking for
You’ll need to:
- Be currently enrolled on a bachelor’s or master’s degree and on track to graduate in 2028, by 1 July.
- Be available to work full-time from the end of June to the end of August 2027, including at least two days per week in the London office.
- Have the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the programme. Students on a student visa are welcome, provided their visa permits the required full-time hours throughout the internship.
- Be fluent in English.
- Have less than 12 months of relevant full-time work experience, excluding internships.
- Demonstrate a strong interest in financial markets and investment management.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Have strong numeracy and quantitative analysis skills.
- Be a collaborative team player with a curious mindset and a willingness to learn.
- Python skills are advantageous but not essential.
