ABOUT SYSTEMIQ CAPITAL
Systemiq Capital backs audacious founders redefining the physical economy. We invest at Series A +/- across the UK, Europe and the US, focused on three areas: Electrification/Compute, Decoding Nature and Applied AI. We invest where founders are redefining how energy is traded, managed and used, and how natural and industrial systems become more intelligent, productive and resilient.
Our edge comes from understanding the market forces, industry dynamics and system conditions that shape a company's path to scale and commercial value. It also comes from connecting founders with the specialist expertise, networks and commercially grounded support they need to build. We are now fundraising and deploying from our third fund, continuing to back category defining companies that can produce top returns for our investors whilst also having a positive transformation effect on the physical economy. Our portfolio includes superstars like Ohme, Basecamp Research, ElectronX, and Mixx, among others.
We are a small, high-calibre team that works closely together, thinks deeply, and holds itself to a high commercial standard.
THE ROLE
We are hiring an Investment Analyst or Associate to join our investment team. You will work across the full investment cycle, building conviction in the systems we back and developing into a credible investor in your own right. The role spans three core areas: sourcing and forming an investment view, supporting diligence and execution, and working with founders before, during and after we invest. The biggest driver of success is building your own spike: a personal network, brand and area of expertise that becomes the foundation of a great venture career.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Sourcing and pipeline. Build a strong pipeline of exceptional founders across the UK, Europe and the US, and form an early view on where the commercial opportunity sits.
- Network building. Build genuine relationships with founders, co-investors and technical experts across the systems we invest in.
- Diligence and execution. Do the heavy lifting on deals: market and commercial diligence, financial modelling, investment memos, and support on term sheets, working alongside senior investors. The role will have a strong focus on commercial and analytical judgement.
- Systems expertise (research) and point of view. Build the network and expertise that give you a unique view on the market forces and system conditions shaping our three verticals, and turn that into sharp, commercial thinking the team and the market can use.
- Portfolio support. Own the data-driven market analysis, quarterly portfolio reviews and announced deals process, and help connect founders to the specialist expertise and networks that sharpen their path to scale.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
