Investment and Portfolio Analyst – Sutton Coldfield – Up to £50,000
We are working with a well-established wealth management and financial planning firm in Sutton Coldfield who are looking to add to their small in-house investment team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with existing experience within investment & portfolio analysis either working within a financial planning firm or more general financial services. Someone who has completed or is working towards their CII/CISI/FCA exams would be ideal for this position.
The Role
This role is suited to an investment professional with established industry experience and a strong working knowledge of financial markets, portfolio management, investment research, and client-focused reporting.

The Investment and Portfolio Analyst will support the ongoing management, monitoring, and development of the firm’s investment proposition, including the managed portfolio service (MPS), while contributing meaningful analysis, insight, and recommendations to the Head of Investments, senior management, wealth managers, and relevant investment committees.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake detailed analysis of financial data, market trends, macroeconomic developments, and investment opportunities across a range of asset classes.
- Support the Investment Manager in the ongoing monitoring, review, rebalancing, and development of portfolios held within the managed portfolio service (MPS).
- Prepare high-quality regular and ad hoc investment reports, portfolio commentary, analysis.
- Contribute to investment research and due diligence for new and existing collective funds, platforms, and investment solutions.
- Maintain and enhance investment databases, research notes, portfolio models, risk tools, and reporting frameworks, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and appropriate audit trails.

What They’re Looking For
- Proven experience within financial services, investment management or asset management.
- Ability to interpret complex investment data.
- Sound understanding of financial markets.
- Progress towards, or completion of, a relevant professional qualification such as the IMC, CFA, CISI, or equivalent would be advantageous.
- Experience using investment research platforms.
