Investment Associate Consultant (Asset Modelling and Technology)
Business area: Investment Consulting
Location: London and Winchester
Job ID: 324404
Location - London or Winchester with hybrid working available
At LCP we love what we do, and it shows. We help our clients make good decisions based on insightful analysis, industry expertise, and game-changing technology. Working across a wide range of sectors, including pensions and benefits, investments, insurance, energy, health, sports, and data analytics, we help our clients navigate complexity in order to take the action that matters.
LCP is recruiting an Investment Consultant to join the Asset Modelling Team (“AMT”) within the Investment practice. The role will focus on developing, testing and operating the modelling tools and assumptions that support client advice and LCP's investment technology.
The Asset Modelling Team develops and maintains modelling capabilities used across the Investment and other departments, including stochastic asset liability models, economic scenario generation, yield curve production, assumption-setting analysis and tools used in LCP Visualise.
This role is suited to someone who enjoys technical work, careful analysis and learning how asset and liability models operate in practice. The successful candidate will work with experienced colleagues to run models, test outputs, support regular assumption setting and scenario generation processes, and contribute to model development.
What will you be doing?
The successful candidate should be able to undertake, or be keen to develop capability in, most of the following:
- Lead or manage asset-liability modelling work for client projects, including model runs, analysis, output review and communication of results. This may include direct client-facing presentations
- Develop, maintain and improve asset modelling tools for monitoring, portfolio analysis, strategic investment modelling and client reporting
- Calibrate the Economic Scenario Generator and oversee regular AMT processes, including validation checks, documentation of key judgements and analysis to support assumption setting
- Manage analysis work for the assumption group, producing investment analysis to support assumption setting and central model servicing
- Support the generation and validation of yield curves
- Specify, test and roll out new modelling functionality in collaboration with software development teams and internal stakeholders for LCP Visualise and other tools
- Use Excel, coding skills and appropriate artificial intelligence (“AI”) tools, including agentic coding tools, to improve model development, testing, analysis and documentation
- Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues, including reviewing work and helping more junior team members develop modelling skills

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Experience of developing, specifying or testing models and technical tools, including working with development teams or technical stakeholders
