The Opportunity

Finatal is working with an ambitious and growing investment firm seeking to appoint an Investment Associate / Senior Associate to its London team. The firm provides flexible capital solutions to high-quality lower mid-market businesses, partnering closely with management teams to support growth, acquisitions, refinancing, and other strategic initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious investor to join a highly entrepreneurial platform and gain exposure across the full investment lifecycle. Working closely with senior investment professionals, the successful candidate will take significant responsibility across origination, transaction execution, portfolio monitoring, and value creation.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate new investment opportunities from initial screening through to completion
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models, valuations, and returns analysis
  • Support and increasingly lead financial, commercial, and operational due diligence
  • Prepare investment papers and present analysis to senior investment professionals
  • Assess companies, sectors, management teams, and potential investment structures
  • Work closely with management teams, advisers, and other stakeholders throughout transactions
  • Monitor portfolio company performance and support strategic and value creation initiatives
  • Support acquisitions, refinancings, and other portfolio transactions
  • Conduct market and sector research to identify attractive investment opportunities
  • Contribute to origination through adviser relationships and proactive market mapping
  • Take increasing ownership and responsibility as the investment platform continues to grow

Requirements

  • 2-6 years of experience within private equity, private credit, investment banking, accounting, or a related investment environment
  • Strong financial modelling, valuation, and analytical skills
  • Experience working on transactions and managing due diligence workstreams
  • Strong commercial judgement and an interest in lower mid-market investing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable operating in a lean, entrepreneurial, and fast-paced environment
  • Highly motivated, intellectually curious, and willing to take significant ownership
  • Collaborative and ambitious, with the desire to develop into a senior investment professional
  • Strong academic credentials and track record of achievement
