Department Overview:
Nomura's Investment Banking division provides an array of advisory and capital-raising solutions to corporations, financial institutions, governments and public-sector organizations around the world. Our global teams act as geographic, product and industry specialists, with a focus on domestic, regional and cross-border collaboration in M&A, DCM, acquisition finance and solutions businesses. Our global sector teams include Greentech Industrials and Infrastructure, Consumer & Retail, FIG, Healthcare, Business Services, Media and Technology, and Financial Sponsors.
Greentech Industrials and Infrastructure (“GII”) team is one of the leading and largest sector teams at Nomura with a strong track record and significant transaction pipeline across low carbon infrastructure, energy, transport and logistics, digital infrastructure, water and environmental sectors.
The Transport and Logistics vertical is an integral part of the Nomura GII team working on transactions in multiple jurisdictions across the EMEA region. The team has been involved in a range of landmark M&A transactions over the past few years, advising a range of transport operators, private equity funds, infrastructure funds and sovereign wealth funds. The team is active across investment strategies (core, core+, value-add) and sub-verticals within the transport and logistics universe (e.g. airports, terminals, OSW vessels, car parks, road logistics, leasing, etc.).

Role Description:
- Typical work includes a mix of execution and client coverage, including: financial analysis, due diligence, process management, deal origination support and client deal team interaction
- Required to co-ordinate and work with all other product, geography and industry teams, including M&A, Infrastructure Finance, Debt Capital Markets, Debt Advisory and Equity Advisory
- Opportunity to work on a range of transaction types, including sell-side M&A, buy-side M&A, debt and equity raising and leveraged buyouts
- Broad engagement across teams / groups, for example: M&A, Infrastructure Finance, Debt Advisory, Equity Advisory, Structured and Risk solutions (e.g., IR or FX derivatives).
- Opportunity to work in close contact with senior members of the team with a great level of exposure
Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:
- Experience of working within Investment Banking / Corporate Finance / M&A
- Experience in the Energy and Infrastructure sector with preference for previous exposure to transport and logistics transactions
- Ability to interact confidently with other banking professionals and clients
- Outstanding analytical skills and attention to detail including financial modelling and valuation
- Proven experience in leading M&A deal execution in the relevant sector
- Experience of working in a project-based environment with tight deadlines
- Proactiveness, resourcefulness, intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm
- Outstanding academic record
