About the Opportunity
Mercor is recruiting experienced Investment Banking Experts for a research project with a leading foundational AI model laboratory. The engagement is designed for professionals with strong investment banking experience who can apply real-world expertise across financial analysis, modeling, transaction materials, and investment research. Your work will contribute to research and development efforts focused on improving the capabilities of advanced AI systems in financial and investment banking workflows.
Responsibilities
- Apply professional investment banking expertise to research and AI-focused projects.
- Develop, review, or evaluate financial models and related analytical outputs.
- Prepare or assess investment banking pitch decks and presentation materials.
- Create or evaluate investment and analysis summaries, reports, and memos.
- Conduct or review company and industry analysis.
- Apply professional judgment to assess the accuracy, quality, and relevance of financial analyses.
- Provide high-quality work products aligned with real-world investment banking standards.
- Collaborate with Mercor and research teams throughout the engagement.
- Complete assigned projects accurately and within established timelines.
- Contribute high-quality work that may support selection for future Mercor research engagements.

Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years of professional experience working in investment banking.
- Experience working at a top-tier investment banking firm.
- Demonstrated expertise in at least one of the following areas:
- Financial Modeling
- Pitch Decks
- Investment / Analysis Summaries and Memos
- Company / Industry Analysis
- Strong financial analysis and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to apply professional investment banking judgment to complex financial work.
- Strong written and analytical communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote research environment.
- Availability to commit at least 10 hours per week.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience across multiple investment banking workstreams.
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling and valuation.
- Experience preparing transaction-related presentations and pitch materials.
- Experience producing investment research, analytical summaries, or executive-level memos.
- Broad knowledge of company and industry research.
- Experience contributing to high-quality financial or analytical work products.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver accurate work under time constraints.

Engagement Details

Compensation

- Must have at least 2 years of investment banking experience at a top firm.
- Must demonstrate expertise in at least one specified investment banking workstream.
- Must be able to commit at least 10 hours per week.
