We’re looking for an Investment Banking Associate to join our team and work directly on capital raises and live transactions.

This is a commercial role for someone with a strong finance background.

You’ll work with founders, companies, and investors, taking opportunities from initial conversations through to financial close. That means running calls, understanding the underlying business and financials, presenting investment opportunities, managing objections, and keeping deals moving. A large part of the role is sales, but we’re not looking for a traditional salesperson.

Finance competency comes first.

You need to be able to understand a company quickly, assess its financial position and business model, understand the investment case, and communicate that clearly to investors and prospects. You also need to be good with people.

You should understand how investors think, what they care about, what creates hesitation, and what needs to happen to get a deal over the line.

What you’ll be doing

  • Running first and second calls with prospects, founders, and investors
  • Reviewing companies, financials, business models, and investment opportunities
  • Presenting investment opportunities clearly and confidently
  • Understanding investor requirements and decision criteria
  • Managing objections and concerns throughout the process
  • Following up with prospects and maintaining momentum across active deals
  • Supporting the positioning and marketing of capital raises
  • Working directly with founders and senior decision-makers
  • Managing opportunities through the pipeline
  • Taking deals through to financial close

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Who we’re looking for

You need a solid finance background.

Ideally, you’ll have experience in investment banking, M&A, private equity, venture capital, corporate finance, capital raising, financial advisory, investor relations, or another transaction-focused finance role. You should be comfortable with financial statements, valuations, capital structures, investment returns, business models, and risk.

You don’t need to come in as a polished salesperson.

We care more about financial competency, commercial judgement, and your ability to learn quickly. That said, you need to be comfortable speaking with people, leading calls, and asking direct questions. You can’t hide behind spreadsheets in this role.

We want someone who can understand the numbers and then get on a call and communicate them properly.

Compensation

$2,000/month base. 5–10% commission depending on the deal. $20,000–$30,000+ monthly OTE for strong performers.

Commission is uncapped.

This is deliberately a performance-heavy compensation structure. If you’re good at what you do and help us close deals, you should be paid accordingly.

Who this is not for

This probably isn’t the right role if you want a traditional investment banking career path, a large guaranteed salary, or a role that is primarily modeling and analysis. It also isn’t for someone who is great at sales but has no real finance knowledge. We need both sides.

You need to understand finance well enough to have credible conversations around an investment opportunity and be commercial enough to move that conversation toward a decision.

How to apply

Send us your CV along with answers to the following:

  • What is your finance background?
  • What experience do you have working on transactions or capital raises?
  • What is the largest or most complex deal you’ve been involved in, and what was your role?
  • Have you had direct conversations with founders, investors, or clients as part of a transaction? If so, what were you responsible for?
  • Why does a performance-based role appeal to you?

We’re keeping the team lean, so this role comes with a lot of responsibility and direct exposure to live deals.

If you’re strong financially, good with people, and want your earnings tied to the deals you help close, we’d like to hear from you.
