Your role

Are you passionate about fixed income markets and interested in how sovereigns, supranational institutions, government agencies and other public sector issuers raise funding? Do you enjoy analysing market dynamics, understanding investor demand and working on high-profile bond transactions in a fast-paced environment? We're looking for someone like that who can:

  • Directly originate and execute a broad range of debt capital markets transactions for public sector clients, including sovereign, supranational, agency (SSA), local authority and government-related bond issuances across multiple currencies.
  • Monitor global fixed income markets, government bond performance, central bank developments, macroeconomic trends and investor activity to identify opportunities and risks for clients.
  • Analyse funding markets, yield curves, relative value opportunities, issuance trends and investor feedback to help advise clients on transaction timing, structure, pricing and execution strategy.
  • Develop expertise in sovereign and SSA funding programmes, syndicated bond issuance, benchmark transactions, liability management exercises and debt capital markets execution.

Your team

You'll be working within the Debt Capital Markets (DCM) team in Global Banking.

  • You will work alongside experienced DCM and Syndicate professionals advising the largest issuers in the public sector.
  • The role provides unique exposure to issuers, institutional investors, central banks, asset managers, insurance companies and official sector participants across multiple geographies and currencies.

This is a highly visible and intellectually demanding role which combines elements of investment banking, debt capital markets, fixed income global markets and risk management. Successful candidates will gain a deep understanding of how global fixed income markets function.

Your expertise

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a relevant field could be a plus but not a prerequisite.
  • Prior experience in Investment Banking, Debt Capital Markets, Fixed Income Sales & Trading or Rates Strategy.
  • Strong interest in global fixed income markets including derivatives.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with strong analytical and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg, Dealogic, BondRadar or similar market intelligence platforms.
  • Strong quantitative and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to synthesise large amounts of information and communicate key messages clearly and succinctly.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to perform under pressure, manage competing priorities and maintain accuracy in a fast-moving environment.
  • Commercially minded, intellectually curious and motivated to develop innovative funding solutions for sovereign, supranational and other public sector clients.
