JPMorganChase’s Centre for Carbon Transition (CCT)

JPMorganChase’s Centre for Carbon Transition (CCT) team leads target-setting and management of the firmwide portfolio-level carbon intensity targets, green financing goal, and Energy Supply Financing Ratio (ESFR) and related external and client engagement. In this role, the team provides transition insights for senior leadership and our banking partners and clients.

As a Senior Analyst or Associate, you will use your experience to support the broader mandate of CCT in advising the firm on the energy transition outlook while building your own decarbonisation / transition expertise.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a strong analytical/quantitative base and excellent attention to detail, working closely with the New York and London-based CCT team and interfacing with internal counterparts across the firm as well as with clients.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of the Firm’s strategy to align, over time, its financing portfolio with net zero emissions by 2050
  • Evaluate clients’ transition strategies and credibility of decarbonization plans
  • Support and own elements of quantitative client and portfolio carbon analytics, assessing carbon performance at both the individual transaction level and across industry portfolios
  • Translate quantitative and qualitative outputs into executive-ready recommendations for stakeholder engagement and senior forums
  • Support external engagement and events

Required qualifications and experience

  • University degree in a relevant field (e.g., finance, energy / environmental economics, sustainability)
  • 1-3 years of experience in a relevant energy / decarbonization / sustainability / climate role
  • Ability to convey information clearly, accurately and succinctly (both written and verbally)
  • Excellent analytical skills (including proficiency in Excel, working with large datasets and third-party data sources) and strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and self-starter mindset
  • Demonstrated interest in energy, climate and decarbonization themes
  • Understanding of banking products
  • Understanding of carbon accounting concepts and practical application to corporates (scopes, boundaries, data limitations, and interpretability)

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
