Key Responsibilities
Are you a leader in innovation? Do you know how to come up with creative ideas for clients?
We’re looking for an investment banker to:
- Originate and lead Corporate Finance opportunities with leading entrepreneurs, family offices, and privately controlled companies across EMEA
- Act as a senior strategic advisor to clients, leading discussions across M&A, equity capital markets, debt capital markets, leveraged finance, and other strategic alternatives
- Develop trusted relationships with key decision makers and help clients evaluate the full range of strategic and financing options available to them
- Build and execute a clear business plan, including ownership of pipeline development, revenue targets, and budget delivery
- Convert cross-divisional connectivity into actionable IB opportunities, working seamlessly across Global Wealth Management and Investment Banking
- Partner closely with Wealth Management client advisors to identify high-potential situations, while bringing strong IB judgment, execution credibility, and strategic content to client dialogue
- Drive origination from idea generation through mandate development, coordinating the right product, sector, and regional expertise across the firm and leading the execution of transactions together with Investment Banking
- Maintain high standards of judgment, conduct, risk awareness, and regulatory discipline in all client and transaction-related activities
- Develop the UGB platform by strengthening collaboration between divisions and expanding the firm’s relevance with entrepreneurial and family office clients
The Team
You will be working in the Unified Global Banking team, based in London, Zurich, or another relevant EMEA market. UGB is a strategic platform connecting Global Wealth Management and Investment Banking to originate and execute Corporate Finance opportunities for leading entrepreneurs, family offices, and privately controlled businesses. The team brings senior IB content into client conversations, helping clients evaluate strategic options across M&A, equity capital markets, debt capital markets, leveraged finance, and other financing or advisory solutions. The role requires close partnership with both Wealth Management and Investment Banking colleagues, with a focus on proactive origination, client leadership, mandate conversion, and accountable revenue delivery.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
