Head of Origination / Managing Director
Investment Banking | Capital Raising | M&A Advisory
Location: Europe | Regular client travel | Remote
Seniority: 10+ years | Senior revenue-generating leadership role
KH Holdings is hiring a Head of Origination to lead the commercial front end of our European advisory business. This is a senior, hands-on role for an investment banker who has personally originated, negotiated, and closed fee-paying capital-raising and M&A advisory mandates — and who wants the upside, ownership, and pace of a high-growth boutique rather than the structure and constraints of a large bank.
KH Holdings is an independent European investment banking advisory firm focused on founder-led businesses and SMEs. Our platform has supported more than €100M of capital and advised 40+ companies across the EU and UK. 2026 has been a strong growth year for the firm, and our projections for the balance of the year remain ambitious as we expand our cross-border mandate base, strengthen our origination platform, and continue to build our European presence.
We are now looking for the person who can turn that platform into a consistently high-performing origination engine. The successful candidate will own mandate generation and conversion, lead and develop our junior origination team, maintain a disciplined CRM and forecast, and become the senior commercial face of KH with founders, CEOs, CFOs, and shareholders across Europe.
The Mandate
This is not a relationship-maintenance role and it is not a senior title attached to a junior sales function. You will be accountable for creating new advisory revenue. You will receive support from KH’s marketing, lead-generation, analyst, CRM, and execution infrastructure, but you must be able to independently qualify opportunities, lead sophisticated client conversations, defend our value proposition, manage objections, negotiate commercial terms, and close mandates.
You will own:
- A +100M€ deal pipeline in which you can participate and benefit from.
- The European origination strategy and the new-mandate revenue target and origination analyst.
- Conversion of qualified opportunities into signed, fee-paying fundraising and M&A advisory engagements.
- Senior client conversations from first qualification through proposal, objection handling, negotiation, and signature.
- The discipline and accuracy of the weekly pipeline, CRM, and revenue forecast — including clear next actions, probabilities, and expected decision dates.
- Management, coaching, and performance of the origination analysts, with clear weekly activity and conversion objectives.
- Development of a repeatable commercial playbook: qualification criteria, proposal standards, fee positioning, objection handling, follow-up cadence, and closing process.
- Close coordination with the CEO and execution team on mandate selection, pricing, transaction strategy, and client handover.
- Continued development of KH’s relationships with founders, shareholders, advisers, intermediaries, and referral partners across Europe.

We will measure this role on outcomes, not activity alone. The core scorecard will include:

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
- Our objective is to be at a run-rate of 5M€ average monthly funding close.
- Qualified new opportunities entering the pipeline each week.
- Introductory-call to proposal conversion.
- Proposal to signed-engagement conversion.
- New engagement fees and advisory revenue collected.

- Forecast accuracy and pipeline hygiene.
- Performance and development of the junior origination team.
- Ability to resolve normal client questions and objections without unnecessary escalation to senior management.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for a proven originator and closer, not simply someone who has participated in transactions. The right candidate combines investment-banking credibility with the commercial instincts of an entrepreneur and the operating discipline of a sales leader.
You should bring:
- 10+ years of relevant experience in investment banking, corporate finance, capital raising, M&A advisory, or a closely related senior origination role.
- A demonstrable personal track record of originating and closing advisory mandates and generating fee revenue.
- Experience selling retainers, engagement fees, and/or paid advisory scopes — not only success-fee introductions.
- Strong command of capital raising and M&A fundamentals, with enough technical depth to establish credibility quickly with founders, CFOs, shareholders, and sophisticated advisers.
- Evidence that you can handle objections around fees, exclusivity, valuation, timing, investor readiness, and mandate structure without relying on a more senior colleague to rescue the conversation.
- Experience managing, coaching, and holding junior origination or business-development professionals accountable for measurable output.
- Strong CRM, pipeline, and forecasting discipline, with a willingness to keep the system current and use it as a management tool rather than an administrative exercise.
- Excellent written and spoken English; additional European languages and an existing founder/adviser network are highly valued.
- A builder mentality: high ownership, high energy, comfort with ambiguity, willingness to be hands-on, and the judgment to improve systems while using them.
The Environment
KH is a young, successful, and fast-growing boutique. We are deliberately building differently from a traditional investment bank: lean teams, direct access to senior leadership, modern CRM, AI-enabled workflows, cross-border coverage, and meaningful responsibility from day one. Decisions are made quickly, and performance is visible.
That environment is a major opportunity for the right person — but it requires a startup mindset. You should be comfortable creating structure where needed, operating without layers of bureaucracy, switching between strategy and client work, and being accountable for results. This role is best suited to someone who wants to build a franchise, not inherit a finished one.
Entrepreneurial Compensation and Ownership
We are not trying to replicate a large-bank fixed-pay package at this time but rather a ground floor opportunity with huge potential. We are looking for a senior banker who wants to participate directly in the value they create. The compensation structure will therefore be performance-led, transparent, and designed to create substantial upside for exceptional production.

Get help with your application
Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
- High compensation capped commission / revenue participation: meaningful variable compensation directly linked to signed mandates and collected advisory revenue attributable to your origination.
- Monthly performance rewards: strong objective-linked monthly bonuses and perks when agreed origination, conversion, revenue, and team-management targets are achieved.
- Substantial KH share option plan: meaningful long-term participation in the firm, with accelerated milestone-based vesting as agreed revenue and leadership objectives are reached, rather than relying only on a long time-based vesting schedule.
- Progressive upside: economics can step up as production scales and the candidate demonstrates the ability to build a repeatable origination franchise.
- Tailored senior package: the precise mix will be agreed based on verified track record, seniority, jurisdiction, and the level of commercial responsibility assumed.
Participation in Our Search-Fund Initiative
Alongside our core advisory business, KH is developing a search-fund initiative. The Head of Origination will have the opportunity to participate economically in this initiative and to earn a direct stake based on agreed sourcing, origination, acquisition, and value-creation milestones. For a candidate with lower-middle-market M&A, acquisition sourcing, or owner-network experience, this offers an additional path to long-term participation beyond annual commission and KH equity options.
Why Join KH Now
- Join at a point where the advisory platform is established but the origination franchise can still be shaped by its leader.
- Build on a European platform that has supported €100M+ of capital and advised 40+ companies.
- Work directly with senior leadership and have genuine influence over pricing, targeting, qualification, team design, and commercial strategy.
- Use an existing lead-generation, CRM, analyst, and execution infrastructure rather than starting with no platform.
- Participate in the economics you create through commission, monthly performance rewards, KH share options, and the search-fund initiative.
- Operate in a fast-moving boutique environment where strong performance can translate quickly into greater responsibility, ownership, and economics.
This Role Will Not Suit Everyone
You are unlikely to enjoy this role if you:
- Primarily want a large guaranteed base with limited personal revenue accountability.
- Have senior investment-banking tenure but cannot point to mandates and revenue you personally originated and converted.
- Prefer to hand difficult commercial questions, fee objections, or closing conversations to someone else.
- Dislike CRM discipline, measurable weekly objectives, or transparent forecasting.
- Need a highly structured corporate environment with multiple layers of support before you can act.
