The Opportunity
Our client is a leading international investment banking platform seeking an exceptional Managing Director to join its Financial Institutions Group (FIG) team in London. This is a rare opportunity for an established senior banker to play a pivotal role in driving strategic growth across the insurance sector while working within an entrepreneurial, client-centric environment.
The successful candidate will leverage an extensive network of senior insurance executives and deliver high-impact advisory solutions across M&A, capital raising, strategic partnerships, and broader corporate finance mandates.
Key Responsibilities
- Originate and execute M&A and strategic advisory transactions across the insurance sector.
- Develop and strengthen relationships with CEOs, CFOs, founders, and other senior decision makers across European insurance companies.
- Generate and convert business development opportunities into completed mandates and revenue.
- Lead client engagements from origination through execution, ensuring exceptional delivery and commercial outcomes.
- Mentor and develop junior bankers while contributing to the continued growth of the FIG franchise.
- Collaborate with sector and product specialists across the wider platform to deliver integrated advisory solutions.

Candidate Profile
- Proven track record as a fee-generating investment banking Managing Director within FIG.
- Established and demonstrable relationships with C-suite executives across the European insurance market.
- Extensive experience originating and leading M&A, strategic advisory, or capital raising mandates.
- Strong commercial acumen with a history of building long-term client relationships.
- Excellent leadership skills and experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Deep understanding of insurance markets and the strategic challenges facing insurers, brokers, and related financial institutions.
