Investment Content Writer

Division: Marketing and Client Strategy

Location: London

Contract: 12-month FTC

Working pattern: Hybrid

About the Role

If you’re looking for a role where your content can have genuine reach and influence, this is a fantastic opportunity to make your mark. You will be translating complex investment, financial and economic ideas into content that is clear, interesting and accessible and read by an audience upwards of 20,000. You’ll have a good level of autonomy over the content you create and edit, with the scope over time to innovate and shape how we explain investment issues to clients. The role will span a broad range of topics, with about 60% focused on financial markets, general investment and economic issues and 40% on responsible investment.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Working closely with senior investment experts, including the Chief Investment Officer, as well as key stakeholders and working groups, to commission, edit and create high-quality content. You’ll bring financial markets, responsible investment and economic topics to life, making complex ideas clear, interesting and accessible to a broad client audience.
  • Creating content across a varied range of formats, from articles and reports to social media, tailored to private clients and charities. You’ll contribute to flagship publications, including our Investment Insights magazine and annual stewardship report. You’ll also work on our regular market commentary and reactive pieces on the market implications of national and international political events and crises.
  • Taking responsibility for content projects from brief through to delivery, managing priorities and timelines to ensure high-quality work is delivered on time.
  • Collaborating with teams from across Rathbones Group, including Investment Research, Stewardship, Marketing, Design, Responsible Business and Compliance, bringing together different strands of expertise to create content that is accurate, compelling, timely and aligned with our wider messaging and business development goals.
  • Putting clients at the heart of the content you create, using insights and feedback to understand what matters to our audiences and develop relevant communications that make people read on and help retain and win new business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
