Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You will:

  • Lead and execute complex transactions from origination through to completion, including situations requiring restructuring, across special situations and "good book" acquisitions for portfolio growth.
  • Take an active role across the portfolio — not just on the deal, but in driving performance and value creation post-investment.
  • Bring financial and commercial nous to deal execution, structuring and ongoing portfolio monitoring.
  • Work closely with management teams to identify and deliver operational and strategic improvement.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the firm's leadership on complex, judgement-led decisions.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CA or equivalent) — this is a firm and essential requirement.
  • Strong background in special situations, restructuring or M&A, ideally gained at a leading advisory or investment firm — again a firm and essential requirement.
  • Experience operating in fast-moving, high-stakes situations that demand both technical rigour and commercial judgement.
  • Track record of working directly with senior stakeholders and management teams.
  • Experience with consumer-facing or complex businesses would be an advantage, though not essential.
