Ready to shape NAV financing strategy across private equity portfolios?

Why HSBC

HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world. Guided by our purpose of opening up a world of opportunity, our ambition is to become the world’s most trusted bank globally, putting customers at the heart of everything we do.

The Role

This is a senior role within HSBC Asset Management’s NAV Financing Partnership Strategy, providing alternative strategic capital against private equity portfolios. You’ll take ownership of assessing and evaluating NAV financing transactions for recommendation to Investment Committee and oversee ongoing portfolio monitoring. The role sits in a fast-paced market where timetables can shift quickly and transaction structures can be complex. You’ll work closely with HSBC origination and product teams to position the Strategy for the right opportunities and execute investments in line with mandate restrictions and policy. Success means building a strong pipeline of well-structured transactions, delivering disciplined underwriting and maintaining effective oversight of portfolio performance and risk. You’ll also support fund launches and help promote the Strategy and wider Capital Solutions offerings to sales teams, clients and investors.

What you'll be doing

  • Oversee assessment and evaluation of NAV financing transactions for Investment Committee recommendation
  • Review private equity portfolio collateral including portfolio companies, fund LP positions, fees, co-investments and carry
  • Structure transactions for the investment vehicles managed by the Strategy’s investment team
  • Evaluate due diligence materials including portfolio reports, business plans and third-party financial, commercial, legal and tax reports
  • Build and test assumptions in financial models with focus on underlying cashflow profiles
  • Manage transaction documentation to complete investments efficiently and to required standards
  • Monitor portfolio performance post-completion including escalation and oversight of investments showing signs of stress or distress
  • Strengthen market presence through active dialogue with financial sponsors, debt advisers, market peers and HSBC origination partners

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Building NAV financing partnerships

If you want to work at the centre of a growing NAV financing strategy this role offers the scope to influence origination, structuring and portfolio outcomes. You’ll help position HSBC Asset Management’s Capital Solutions platform with financial sponsors and advisers while maintaining disciplined underwriting and oversight. The work spans transaction execution, investment committee engagement and post-close monitoring in a market that moves quickly. If that sounds like the kind of impact you want to have we’d welcome your application.

Given the focus on Continental European Sponsors, the role can be based from Continental Europe (Paris, Luxembourg or Zurich) or London. However, there is the expectation of regular travel between the Continent and London, given the remainder of the NAV Financing team is based in London.
