About the Systematic Investing team

Fidelity Systematic Investing brings together Fidelity's systematic capabilities across Equities, Fixed Income and Quant to deliver funds and custom solutions to our clients. The business has grown from $3bn in AUM to $33bn in AUM in 6 years, has a strong commercial focus and a healthy pipeline of new business opportunities. The Investment Directing team represents the group to prospective and existing clients, reports on portfolios, promotes thought leadership, contributes to the development of new capabilities in response to investor demand, and produces marketing materials to support sales activity. The team brings together strong market expertise, deep and evolving knowledge of portfolio strategies, and the ability to communicate these effectively across a range of channels, including direct client engagement.

About your role as an Investment Director

This position will be situated in Fidelity’s Systematic Investment Directing team, reporting to the Head of Systematic Investment Directing, based in London.

  • This role will focus on representing Fidelity's Systematic Investing capabilities across clients, consultants and internal stakeholders.
  • Communicating the investment philosophy, process, portfolio positioning and performance outcomes of systematic strategies through client servicing, due diligence, presentations, product development initiatives and business development activity.
  • Represent the Portfolio Managers in client-facing activity, representing investment capabilities clearly and credibly across a range of client, consultant and internal forums.
  • Partner with investment teams, distribution and other internal stakeholders to drive business acquisition, retention, business defence and broader opportunity development.
  • Lead client engagement across prospecting, pitch meetings, finals presentations, regular review meetings and more complex servicing discussions.
  • Help lead, develop and prioritise the activities of the team, ensuring high-quality delivery across client servicing, presentations, reporting, due diligence and strategic projects.
  • Coach and mentor team members, helping to build investment knowledge, presentation skills and client engagement capabilities.
  • Take ownership of more complex client questions, drawing on the broader investment, product and distribution network to provide high-quality responses.
  • Lead the development and refinement of marketing and client materials, with a focus on clarity, consistency and commercial impact.
  • Help shape franchise strategy, product development discussions and marketing initiatives to strengthen positioning and messaging.
  • Engagement with other stakeholders, (Multi Asset, Solutions, ETFs) to understand their requirements and support delivery using systematic capabilities
  • Engage with distribution and key clients, oversee sales content and reflect their requirements in systematic solutions
  • Technical understanding of at least two of equities, hedge funds and fixed income markets and drivers of the macro environment.
  • Represent Systematic capabilities at internal and external forums, conferences etc with appropriate thought leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Championing Systematic Investing through high-quality client engagement, investment communication and service delivery.
  • Leading investment-related client presentations, consultant meetings and due diligence discussions across both prospective and existing clients.
  • Servicing and marketing including the messaging of investment marketing collateral, client pitches, non-standard presentations and portfolio reporting
  • Review of messaging and content for product launches, DDQs, RFPs
  • Leading, developing and mentoring junior team members, while supporting the broader organisation through investment education and training.
  • Representing Systematic externally across various forums
  • Collaborate on marketing strategy for the franchise and support product development process, as well as proactive engagement with marketing teams on marketing of strategy

About you

The ideal candidate will be a highly credible investment professional with excellent communication skills, capable of representing Fidelity's Systematic Investing capabilities across clients, consultants and internal stakeholders. They will be able to explain complex investment concepts clearly, build client conviction in the investment process and lead a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment. They will display a strong background in financial markets, significant industry experience, with a proven ability to deliver on client needs. They should have excellent communication and organisational skills, be able to multi-task successfully, and have a genuine desire to help the Systematic team continue to build and scale its business.
