An Investment Lead / Head of Investment (depending upon experience) has arisen at an award-winning independent media agency which has a great reputation for innovative work and really challenging conventional thinking.

This role offers the chance to take genuine ownership of its investment function and play a key role in shaping how media investment delivers value for clients.

This is a senior role within the agency, and you will be responsible for the agency's investment approach, leading the AV proposition while owning standards across buying, pricing, negotiation and trading. You will also have senior responsibility for OOH and radio partner relationships, ensuring specialist partners deliver high-quality, commercially competitive work that connects with the wider media strategy.

The Role

As Investment Lead / Head of Investment, you will:

  • Set and own the agency's overall investment approach
  • Lead the AV investment product across linear TV, BVOD, CTV
  • Act as the senior investment authority on major briefs, challenging strategy, channel choices, phasing, pricing and routes to market where required.
  • Maintain senior relationships with major TV sales houses and the wider AV market, bringing market intelligence, opportunities and commercial insight into the agency.
  • Own the agency's pricing, negotiation and trading approach, including significant negotiations with media owners and investment partners.
  • Ensure client value is maximised while maintaining transparency, commercial integrity and independence in recommendations.
  • Own senior relationships with OOH and radio partners, holding them accountable for planning quality, competitiveness and delivery
  • Develop the investment proposition through improved tools, processes etc
  • Work closely with Planning, Digital and Strategy to ensure investment thinking is embedded in the strategic process
  • Contribute to new business and senior client conversations
  • Keep the agency ahead of developments across AV and offline media, including innovation, measurement and new routes to market

Extensive experience in AV planning, buying and investment, with a strong understanding of TV and the evolving video ecosystem.

  • Established senior relationships across the major TV sales houses
  • Experience of taking responsibility for pricing, negotiations and trading decisions.
  • Strong commercial judgement and the ability to balance price, quality, effectiveness and risk.
  • A knowledge of offline media beyond AV, particularly OOH and radio would be beneficial
  • Strong understanding of the core industry data, planning and buying tools used to understand audiences and evaluate delivery.
  • Excellent numerical and commercial skills, with strong attention to detail and an ability to identify where value can be improved.
