Investment Manager - £75,000–£100,000 depending on experience + car allowance + bonus
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Investment Accounting Manager (one day a week in the office and 4 days a week from home) to take ownership of investment accounting performance, financial control, and a team of qualified and trainee accountants within a leading insurance environment.
This is a high-profile leadership position for someone who combines strong technical investment accounting expertise with proven people management and a genuine appetite for driving change.
You will have end-to-end ownership of the investment accounting function, including:
- Producing financial accounts through to Trial Balance
- Ensuring investment accounting outputs, income, and deliverables are complete and accurate
- Oversight and control of journal posting and reconciliations
- Owning the audit process for investment accounting
- Taking ownership of financial controls, identifying control gaps, and driving remediation
- Chairing key meetings and providing strong stakeholder management
- Leading process improvement and transformation initiatives
- Managing a team of qualified and trainee accountants
- Managing and overseeing offshore finance teams
- Ensuring a strong control environment and consistently high-quality accounting outputs

Essential Experience
We are looking for someone with:
- Investment accounting experience within the insurance sector – essential
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS 9 and UK GAAP
- Investment accounting and financial modelling experience
- Strong understanding of reconciliations, journals, income, and financial controls
- Proven experience managing and developing finance teams
- Strong audit ownership and stakeholder management experience
- Qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA, and/or CIMA
