We are looking for an experienced Investment Manager
Join our growing Bristol team. This is an exciting opportunity to manage and develop relationships with high-net-worth clients, providing bespoke discretionary investment solutions that help them achieve their long-term financial goals. Working closely with Private Bankers, Wealth Planners and colleagues across the Bank, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional client outcomes while contributing to the continued growth of our Investment Management business.

Key responsibilities
Delivering exceptional client outcomes
- Manage and service a portfolio of high-net-worth discretionary investment clients.
- Develop a deep understanding of clients' financial objectives, risk profiles, income requirements and investment horizons.
- Build trusted, long-term relationships through exceptional service, clear communication and professional advice.
- Ensure portfolios remain aligned to client objectives through ongoing monitoring, review and engagement.
Providing expert investment advice
- Deliver suitable investment recommendations within Arbuthnot Latham's investment philosophy and framework.
- Construct, implement and review portfolios using sound judgement and disciplined investment principles.
- Oversee portfolio dealing activity and ensure investments remain appropriate, compliant and aligned to agreed mandates.
- Take ownership of investment outcomes and maintain high standards of portfolio stewardship.

Researching and shaping investment thinking
- Contribute to investment research across asset classes, sectors and strategies.
- Form informed views on markets, economies and investment opportunities.
- Translate investment insights into practical portfolio decisions and meaningful client conversations.
- Present recommendations that support both individual client outcomes and the wider investment proposition.
Contributing to business growth
- Support the retention and development of existing client relationships.
- Work collaboratively with Private Bankers and Wealth Planners to identify and secure new business opportunities.
- Prepare and deliver compelling investment presentations and proposals.
- Clearly articulate bespoke investment solutions to both existing and prospective clients.
Upholding the highest professional standards
- Ensure all client activity is managed in accordance with FCA and PRA requirements, internal policies and Treating Customers Fairly principles.
- Identify, manage and escalate investment, conduct and regulatory risks appropriately.
- Represent Arbuthnot Latham with professionalism, integrity and discretion at all times.
- Support a positive, high-performing team culture and act as a role model for colleagues and junior team members.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience managing discretionary investment portfolios for high-net-worth clients.
- Strong understanding of portfolio construction, asset allocation and investment markets.
- Ability to build trusted client relationships and communicate complex investment concepts clearly and confidently.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to contribute to business development initiatives.
- Excellent analytical, research and presentation skills.
- Sound judgement, personal credibility and a commitment to delivering outstanding client service.
- A collaborative approach and a desire to contribute to a supportive, high-performing team environment.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and conduct risk within a wealth or private banking environment.
- Completion of at least Level 6 RDR-compliant investment or wealth management qualification (e.g. CISI PICAM, Wealth Management Master’s or CFA) evidencing a solid technical foundation.
