Job Description
We’re looking for an Investment Operations Technical Analyst to join our Custody Oversight team. If you’re looking for a new challenge with an organisation committed to putting customers first, aiming high and working together, you’ll thrive here.
Job Type: Permanent
Location: This role would be based from our Edinburgh, Birmingham or Telford offices with time spent working from home and from the office (2-3 days).

Salary and benefits: From £30,500 depending on experience plus bonus, private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, excellent pension, 12x salary life assurance, career breaks, income protection, 3x volunteering days and much more.
The Role
The successful candidate will provide oversight of outsourced custody services and related operational activities, ensuring effective governance, control, and continuous improvement of custody processes. The role will entail working closely with custodians, internal stakeholders, and service providers to manage risk, resolve operational issues, support strategic change, and maintain high standards of service delivery and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of custody operations, oversight activities, controls and associated operational risks.
- Deliver high-quality analysis, reporting and support for custody-related change initiatives, ensuring activities are completed within agreed timescales.
- Identify and recommend opportunities to strengthen custody processes, improve efficiency and enhance control effectiveness.
- Build effective relationships with custodians, service providers and internal stakeholders to support service delivery and issue resolution.
- Support testing, implementation and documentation activities for custody-related system, process and regulatory change.
- Monitor, investigate and escalate custody risks, issues and service performance trends, contributing to effective oversight and continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
- Knowledge of custody operations, asset servicing processes and operational risk.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve issues.
- Experience producing reports, analysing data and delivering meaningful insights.
- Understanding of operational controls, governance frameworks and risk management principles.
- Ability to build effective relationships with custodians, service providers and internal stakeholders.
- Experience supporting change initiatives, testing and process improvements.
- Strong organisation and documentation skills.

Desirable
Experience in custody oversight, investment operations or third-party service provider management would be advantageous.
