About Us

At National Gas, the work we do matters.

As Britain's national gas network, we help keep the lights on, businesses running, and homes warm by maintaining the critical infrastructure that transports gas across Great Britain. While providing the energy security Britain relies on today, we're also helping transform the network for a clean energy future.

Join us and help secure Britain's energy.

About The Role

As an Investment Portfolio Reporting Analyst, you'll turn complex investment data into clear insights that help National Gas make informed decisions on operational capex delivery and performance. Your analysis will support investment performance improvements, regulatory outcomes, and the delivery of assets that keep energy flowing safely and reliably.

Why this role matters

Our investment programmes play a vital role in maintaining and improving the UK's gas transmission network. To deliver them effectively, we need accurate reporting, meaningful analysis, and clear visibility of performance. This role sits at the heart of that process. You'll help shape how we understand portfolio performance, identify risks and opportunities, and provide the information leaders need to make confident decisions about the future of our network.

What you’ll be doing

  • Transform data from multiple sources into clear, accurate reporting for a wide range of stakeholders
  • Provide insight into investment performance across cost, schedule, scope, and regulatory measures
  • Support decision-making by identifying trends, risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement
  • Develop and maintain reporting processes that improve efficiency and consistency
  • Create dashboards, reports, and presentations that make complex information easy to understand
  • Challenge and influence stakeholders on portfolio performance and delivery outcomes
  • Lead key reporting activities, managing timelines, and delivering high-quality outputs
  • Support the preparation and assurance of regulatory reporting submissions to Ofgem, ensuring reported information is accurate, auditable, and aligned to regulatory requirements and commitments
  • Maintain and govern reporting dashboards and approved data sets
  • Identify and investigate performance anomalies, providing root-cause analysis and recommendations for corrective action
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of data quality, ensuring a single source of truth across reporting outputs

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
