Investment & Finance Expert

Position: Investment & Finance Expert

Type: Contractor

Compensation: $245–$280/hour

Location: Remote

About the Opportunity

micro1 is partnering with a leading AI lab to engage finance professionals with experience across investment banking, private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, and growth equity. In this role, you will apply real-world financial expertise to evaluate and improve AI model performance across financial reasoning, valuation, capital markets, and investment scenarios.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate AI-generated outputs related to valuation, financial modeling, markets, and investment analysis.
  • Assess the accuracy, quality, and practical relevance of AI-generated financial reasoning.
  • Create expert-level prompts based on real-world investment and transaction experience.
  • Develop reference answers that reflect sound financial analysis and professional judgment.
  • Identify factual errors, flawed calculations, weak reasoning, and unrealistic assumptions.
  • Evaluate AI responses involving financial models, valuation methodologies, and investment decisions.
  • Apply practical deal and market knowledge to assess the quality of model outputs.
  • Provide structured domain feedback to identify areas for improvement.
  • Contribute insights that directly help shape and improve AI model behavior.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of professional experience at a well-known financial firm or legitimate startup.
  • Experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, or growth equity.
  • Strong knowledge of financial modeling, valuation, and investment analysis.
  • Familiarity with capital markets and real-world investment scenarios.
  • Strong financial analysis skills and proficiency with Excel.
  • Ability to critically evaluate financial assumptions, methodologies, and conclusions.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Excellent written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working directly on investment transactions, financial models, valuations, or due diligence.
  • Exposure to multiple areas of investment and finance.
  • Experience evaluating complex financial analyses or investment cases.
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics and financial decision-making.
  • Ability to translate practical financial experience into clear evaluation criteria.
  • Experience creating or reviewing detailed financial models and investment analyses.
