Investment Research Programme 2027

Summary of Role

Imagine a role where your value lies in your inquiring spirit and unique perspective. Our teams thrive on various backgrounds and interests, united by your curiosity about the world and a desire to learn. Whether you’re a philosopher or mathematician, a politics graduate, or a career changer, you can find a career with us.

As an Investment Research Analyst, your role will primarily be research-based, analysing company investment opportunities to help clients achieve their desired financial objectives. Working alongside people who have generated world-class investment returns, you’ll have support through structured learning, professional qualifications, and dedicated mentors. As your skills develop, we’ll encourage you to pursue your ideas and creative thinking. We want you to question what’s in front of you and create an independent viewpoint.

During the programme, you’ll complete year-long placements across our autonomous investment teams. Each team has its own distinct approach and investment philosophy, but they share one purpose: to deliver positive long-term returns for our clients. These include councils, pension funds and governments, all working to meet their important income and savings goals.

From the moment that you join us, you’ll follow a clear career path towards a long-term role in investment research. Our training will help you build the tools, techniques and mental models needed to identify investment opportunities in companies around the world. You’ll learn through a combination of structured development, practical experience and consistent support from dedicated investment mentors and buddies. Your role often involves visiting companies, speaking to global experts or attending conferences.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
