Investment Specialist – Freelance AI Trainer Project

About the Role

This innovative freelance role is based in the United Kingdom. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in financial markets and asset management to train and refine next-generation artificial intelligence models. Operating in a flexible, 100% remote environment, you will play a crucial role in enhancing AI reasoning across equity analysis, portfolio construction, risk management, and market valuation. By designing complex financial scenarios, probing system capabilities, and capturing failure modes, your insights will directly impact how future AI tools analyze economic data and support global investment decision-making. Working alongside an international team at the intersection of finance and machine learning, you will help shape transparent, highly accurate analytical frameworks for professionals and investors worldwide.

Accountabilities

  • Formulate, execute, and document realistic investment scenarios, market-based reasoning tasks, and financial analysis prompts to test the boundaries of advanced language models.
  • Evaluate the factual accuracy, quantitative rigor, and financial logic of AI-generated responses across asset classes, including equities, fixed income, derivatives, and macroeconomics.
  • Identify, capture, and analyze detailed error traces, logic breakdowns, and oversimplifications in model outputs to improve analytical depth and reasoning accuracy.
  • Provide clear, structured, and metacognitive feedback ("showing your work") to refine system prompts, evaluation guidelines, and benchmark datasets.
  • Collaborate on improving model performance related to portfolio management, valuation methodologies, technical and fundamental analysis, and risk assessment.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
