OCR Alpha is partnered with a leading global hedge fund with more than $10bn in AUM, specialising in Fixed Income and Macro strategies. The firm is looking to add a high-calibre individual to its London-based Investor Relations team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone earlier in their career who wants to build a long-term path within Investor Relations and, over time, progress into a more commercial fundraising and sales-focussed position.
Working within a lean and experienced team, the successful candidate will support senior fundraising professionals across a broad range of client activity, including investor communications, meeting preparation and follow-up, participating in investor meetings, and supporting the ongoing coverage and relationship management of institutional clients across Europe.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
As the individual develops, the role is expected to become increasingly client-facing, with greater ownership of investor relationships and, ultimately, the opportunity to move into a standalone relationship management position.
The role would suit someone currently working within Investor Relations or client services within a hedge fund or asset manager. A genuine interest in markets and a desire to build a career on the commercial side of the investment management industry will be important.
