About The Role
We are seeking an experienced iOS Engineer to join our client's dynamic engineering team on a contract basis in Manchester. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work on a large-scale consumer application, contributing to the development and enhancement of native iOS features. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to delivering high-quality software solutions. You will be responsible for translating design concepts into robust, scalable, and maintainable iOS applications, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal user experience.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of professional iOS development experience
- Solid understanding of Swift programming language
- Proficiency in SwiftUI and modern iOS architecture patterns such as MVVM
- Strong knowledge of UIKit, Xcode, and Apple’s development tooling
- Experience with consuming REST and GraphQL APIs, debugging production applications, and writing unit tests
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and the ability to quickly understand large, existing codebases
- Self-motivated individual capable of working independently with minimal supervision
- Keen focus on quality, delivery, and ownership
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain native iOS features using Swift, SwiftUI, and UIKit, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
- Take ownership of features from technical design through to deployment, ensuring timely delivery.
- Collaborate with backend engineers, Product, Design, and QA teams to deliver cohesive and high-quality features.
- Integrate applications with REST and GraphQL APIs to enable seamless data exchange.
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices and coding standards.
- Debug production issues, troubleshoot application stability, and optimize performance.
- Participate in code reviews, contribute to engineering best practices, and promote knowledge sharing.
- Monitor application quality using crash reporting and observability tools such as Firebase, Grafana, or Datadog.
- Work with backend-driven UI solutions to create flexible and scalable interfaces.
