iOS Engineers - Contract

We are supporting a global company.

  • 6 months contract – 40 hours per week – 1 day per week in the Manchester office for meetings
  • Junior iOS Engineer - x1 - Max Rate – £65 per hour Inside IR35
  • Core iOS Engineer - x2 - Max Rate - £77 per hour Inside IR35
  • Senior iOS Engineer - x2 - Max Rate - £96 Inside IR35 per hour

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced iOS Engineer to join an established experience engineering team. You will build, maintain, and improve native iOS features and backend-driven UI solutions based on TypeScript, delivering high-quality features in short development cycles.

This role is best suited for engineers who can quickly understand an existing codebase, become productive with minimal guidance, and consistently deliver production-ready software.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain native iOS features - Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit.
  • Deliver features from technical design through implementation and release.
  • Break down complex work into manageable implementation tasks.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers, product managers, designers, and QA.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
  • Debug production issues and improve application stability and performance.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
  • Monitor application quality through crash reporting and observability tools.
  • Be familiar with backend-driven UI solutions.

Must Have

  • 3+ years of professional iOS development experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Swift.
  • Experience with SwiftUI and modern iOS architecture (MVVM or similar).
  • Solid understanding of UIKit interoperability.
  • Strong knowledge of Xcode and Apple development tooling.
  • Experience consuming REST and/or GraphQL APIs.
  • Experience debugging production applications.
  • Experience writing unit tests.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to quickly understand large existing codebases.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal onboarding.
  • Strong focus on delivery, quality, and ownership.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with GraphQL.
  • Experience with A/B testing or experimentation platforms.
  • Experience with observability tools (Grafana, Datadog, Firebase, etc.).
  • Performance optimization experience.
  • Knowledge of Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines.
  • Experience working on large-scale consumer applications.
