About the Role
We are looking for an experienced IoT Engineer to join our client's growing team and play a key role in delivering connected technology and system integration projects for our customers.
This is a hands-on engineering role combining IoT, programming, systems integration and customer project delivery. You will work across a range of connected devices, protocols and platforms, bringing together sensors, gateways, building systems and cloud-based technologies to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.
The role is primarily remote, with one day per week in London to support customer projects, site activities and technical workshops.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design, develop and implement IoT and systems integration solutions for customer projects.
- Integrate IoT devices, sensors, gateways and building management systems using a range of communication protocols.
- Develop and maintain software and scripts to support device integration, data processing and automation.
- Configure and integrate Modbus devices and systems.
- Work with LoRaWAN devices, gateways and networks.
- Develop and configure solutions using Tridium Niagara N4.
- Troubleshoot communications, connectivity and integration issues across hardware and software.
- Work with APIs and other interfaces to connect IoT platforms and third-party systems.
- Commission and test systems both remotely and on customer sites.
- Work closely with customers, project managers and other engineers to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions.
- Produce technical documentation, integration specifications and commissioning information.
- Support the ongoing improvement and development of our IoT platform and integration capabilities.

About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems and can move comfortably between software, hardware, communications and systems integration.
You'll ideally have:
- Professional experience in IoT, systems integration, controls, automation or a closely related engineering environment.
- Strong programming or scripting skills, with experience in languages such as Python, JavaScript, C/C++ or similar.
- Practical experience working with Modbus, including understanding of registers, addressing and communications troubleshooting.
- Experience with LoRaWAN, including devices, gateways, networks and data flows.
- Hands-on experience with Tridium Niagara N4 and building/controls system integration.
- An understanding of networking fundamentals, including IP, TCP/IP, MQTT and APIs.
- Experience integrating systems from different manufacturers and technologies.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- The ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical customers.
- A practical, hands-on approach to engineering and problem solving.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites in London as required.

Location
