IoT Solutions Architecture Manager
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a IoT Solutions Architecture Manager based in United Kingdom.
This leadership role offers the opportunity to guide a regional team of Field Engineers supporting complex IoT customer engagements.
You will oversee presales and professional services activities, helping customers design, implement, and optimize secure connected-device solutions.
The role combines technical leadership, customer advisory, engineering management, and business-focused solution architecture.
You will work closely with engineers, customers, partners, and senior stakeholders to solve challenging problems across embedded Linux and edge computing.
Your leadership will help develop engineering talent, strengthen delivery practices, and drive successful customer outcomes.
The position suits a hands-on technologist who can connect deep technical expertise with clear business value.
You will operate in a distributed international environment where collaboration, continuous learning, and high engineering standards are central to success.
Accountabilities
- Lead, manage, and develop a regional team of Field Engineers across Presales and Professional Services, supporting team members from graduate through senior levels.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers, helping them understand and adopt relevant IoT, Linux, embedded, and connected-device technologies.
- Support the team in solving complex customer challenges through solution architecture, technical design, and delivery expertise.
- Coach and mentor engineers, provide meaningful career-development feedback, and help team members strengthen their technical and professional capabilities.
- Monitor team health indicators, identify development opportunities, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Establish and maintain disciplined engineering processes, delivery practices, and organizational standards.
- Represent the team and its products to customers, partners, internal stakeholders, and other leadership groups.
- Develop and promote effective engineering and organizational practices across the wider organization.
- Plan, track, and manage progress against agreed goals, customer engagements, and strategic projects.
- Participate actively in the leadership team and collaborate with other leaders to align priorities, execution, and business objectives.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
- Exceptional academic performance at both high school and university level.
- Extensive experience with embedded Linux, including Yocto or comparable technologies.
- Strong Linux expertise, with experience in Debian or Ubuntu considered particularly valuable.
- Fluency in at least one programming language such as Go, Python, C, C++, or Rust.
- Experience managing or leading a small technical engineering team, with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop engineers.
- Demonstrated experience in customer-facing technical roles and complex technology engagements.
- Strong understanding of how technology can deliver measurable business benefits.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively across distributed, multicultural teams and multiple time zones.
- Results-oriented mindset, strong personal accountability, and a consistent ability to meet commitments.
- Curiosity, flexibility, humility, and a willingness to learn quickly in a rapidly evolving technical environment.
- Experience with RTOS technologies is an advantage.
- Additional programming languages or professional fluency in other human languages are desirable.
- Previous experience working in a remote-first, diverse, and globally distributed organization is considered a plus.
- Willingness to travel internationally for in-person team events approximately 2–4 times per year, typically for events lasting 1–2 weeks, as well as occasional customer or external engagements.
