IP Network Engineer — ST 2110 & Multicast, £70,000–£75,000
£70,000 – £75,000 | Watford | Broadcast / OB Environments
Our client is a specialist broadcast technology business working across live television, outside broadcast, and remote production workflows. They're looking for a Broadcast IP Infrastructure Engineer to join a skilled engineering team — building, configuring, and maintaining the IP network infrastructure that underpins live broadcast operations.
This is the role where strong IP networking meets broadcast media. You don't need to arrive as a finished ST 2110 expert — a very strong IP engineer from an ISP or enterprise background can bridge the gap, and the broadcast-specific knowledge is roughly a 10% bolt-on for someone with the right foundations. If you've got deep IP networking skills and a genuine interest in broadcast technology, this is worth a serious look.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Install, configure, upgrade, and optimise OB networking equipment and topologies to support live broadcast and remote production workflows
- Deploy and maintain control system servers, IT monitoring tools, and visualisation applications across the fleet
- Support end-to-end IP systems integration including switch fabrics, multicast routing, and PTP timing (ST 2110)
- Troubleshoot broadcast IT hardware, software, and networking issues across live environments
- Work with technology leadership and engineering teams to implement infrastructure solutions that meet operational and client objectives
- Maintain technical documentation, system diagrams, and version control
- Contribute to internal R&D activities around control, monitoring, and software-defined production workflows
- Ensure designs and systems align with evolving industry standards and internal policies

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
