IP Network Engineer — live broadcast & events, up to £70,000, Shepherd’s Bush
Up to £70,000 | Shepherd’s Bush, West London | 5 days onsite
Our client is a fast-moving broadcast technology business that puts live television on screen for some of the biggest events in sport and beyond. A small, highly capable team of five built the network at pace — and now there’s 18 months of exciting projects lined up. They need a Network Engineer to join them, lead on design and deployment, and upskill the team around them.
This is not a support role. If your background is predominantly reactive and ticket-driven, this isn’t the right fit. They want someone who plans, designs, deploys, and then teaches — a confident engineer who can muck in across wider infrastructure and thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes live environment.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Plan, design, and deploy network infrastructure across a live broadcast and events environment
- Take ownership of Layer 3 network architecture and multicast routing
- Upskill and develop the wider team — you’re a technical leader, not just a contributor
- Get involved in wider infrastructure beyond pure networking — this team needs people who’ll pitch in
- Support live events on an on-call basis — the network underpins live TV transmission
- Contribute to a packed project pipeline across the next 18 months
- Work with Cisco Nexus 9K and Catalyst 9K switching platforms, WatchGuard firewalls, and Netgear

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
