Community Pharmacist – Independent Prescriber (IP)

We are currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity for an Independent Prescribing (IP) Pharmacist to join a well-established and patient-focused community pharmacy.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced pharmacist who holds Independent Prescriber status and is looking to utilize their prescribing qualification within a progressive community pharmacy environment.
The Opportunity
As an IP Community Pharmacist, you will have the opportunity to combine your community pharmacy expertise with your independent prescribing capabilities, providing enhanced clinical services and supporting patients with their healthcare needs.
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care while working within your prescribing scope and professional competencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe and effective independent prescribing services within your scope of practice
- Conduct appropriate patient consultations, clinical assessments, and prescribing decisions
- Identify, assess, and manage patients presenting with a range of common conditions
- Provide evidence-based clinical advice and treatment
- Dispense and clinically check prescriptions
- Provide medication counselling and optimize patients’ use of medicines
- Support the delivery of professional pharmacy and clinical services
- Make appropriate referrals to GPs and other healthcare professionals where required
- Maintain accurate clinical and patient records
- Work in accordance with relevant legislation, professional standards, and prescribing guidelines
- Contribute to a high standard of patient care and an exceptional customer experience

About You
We are seeking a registered Pharmacist with Independent Prescribing rights who is confident in delivering patient-facing clinical services.
You will ideally have:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Pharmacist
- Independent Prescriber (IP) qualification/endorsement
- Relevant experience working in a community pharmacy environment
- Strong clinical assessment and consultation skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient-centred approach to healthcare
- Confidence working autonomously and making appropriate clinical decisions
- A strong understanding of professional, ethical, and regulatory responsibilities
