Role Description
The IPC (Infection Prevention and Control) Practitioner is a full-time, on-site role based in the London Area, United Kingdom. In this position, the practitioner supports the development, implementation, and monitoring of infection prevention and control policies and procedures across the Trust.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Conducting audits
- Providing expert advice to clinical and non-clinical teams
- Supporting incident investigations
- Contributing to education and training programs
The practitioner collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to reduce infection risks, promote best practice, and ensure compliance with national and local standards. The role also involves reviewing data, preparing reports, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of infection prevention and control principles, including risk assessment, surveillance, and audit.
- Experience working in a clinical or healthcare environment, preferably within the NHS or urgent/emergency care services.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to interpret data and present findings clearly to different audiences.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and educate staff at all levels.
- Organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Relevant professional qualification in nursing, public health, biomedical science, or a related healthcare discipline.
- Postgraduate or specialist training in infection prevention and control is highly desirable.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to NHS values and ethical standards.
