ISO 9001 Audit & Compliance Officer

Salary: £45,000–£50,000

Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire – 4 days office-based, 1 day WFH

Benefits: Excellent benefits package

Please note: This role requires regular travel to St Albans 4 days per week, so please ensure the location is realistically commutable before applying.

Purpose of the role

This is a hands-on ISO auditing role, with approximately 2–3 days per week focused on audit activity across the business.

You'll work directly with different departments, reviewing how processes and procedures are being followed, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring any corrective actions are followed right through to completion.

What you'll be doing

  • Plan, conduct and document internal ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 audits across departments.
  • Support wider compliance activity across the business, including maintaining policies and procedures, risk management, GDPR and ensuring ongoing adherence to regulatory and ISO requirements.
  • Review processes, procedures and documentation, identifying non-conformances and areas for improvement.
  • Produce clear audit reports and manage corrective actions through to completion, proactively following up with departments and maintaining the audit tracker.
  • Support external ISO audits, management reviews and wider Quality & Environmental Management System activities.

What we're looking for

  • Strong practical ISO 9001 knowledge and hands-on internal auditing experience.
  • Compliance exposure, ideally with ISO 14001
  • Naturally accurate, organised and proactive with the ability to take ownership and ensure actions are followed through.
  • Warm, approachable and confident working with people across the business – someone who can build relationships and positively encourage others to understand the importance of following compliant processes.
