HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world, with operations in 64 countries and territories. We aim to be where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper, and, ultimately, helping people to fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions.

We are currently seeking a professional to join our team in the role of Business Development Associate, Issuer Services (EMEA).

The Purpose of the Role

To support the growth of the Issuer Services business across EMEA by originating, developing and converting new business opportunities across the product suite. The role manages opportunities through the sales and transaction lifecycle, builds effective relationships with clients, intermediaries and internal partners, and ensures disciplined execution, governance and reporting to deliver sustainable revenue growth and a strong client experience.

Responsibilities

  • Originate opportunities: Generate and develop referrals from internal stakeholders, clients and external intermediaries across EMEA.
  • Manage the pipeline: Maintain a healthy, prioritised sales pipeline and progress opportunities efficiently from initial referral to mandate and closing.
  • Engage clients: Participate in client meetings, pitches and deal discussions, clearly articulating Issuer Services capabilities and value proposition.
  • Develop commercial proposals: Coordinate solution design, pricing, quotations, presentations and responses with product and relationship partners.
  • Coordinate deal execution: Track documentation, approvals and outstanding actions, remove blockers and support post-mandate implementation through to closing.
  • Maintain governance and reporting: Ensure accurate CRM records, pipeline and revenue reporting, approval materials and compliance with risk and business acceptance requirements

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
