IT 1st Line Support Technician

College location: East Surrey College (Redhill) and John Ruskin College (Selsdon)

Salary: £27,780.48 per annum

Hours: Full time (37 hours/week) 08:45-17:00 Monday - Friday

Are you passionate about technology and delivering excellent customer service? We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive IT 1st Line Support Technician to join our IT Services team and play a key role in supporting the systems and technologies that underpin teaching, learning and business operations across the College Group.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with people and supporting a modern Microsoft 365 environment. You'll be part of a collaborative team, providing first-line technical support to staff and students while contributing to the continuous improvement of our IT services.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Act as the first point of contact for IT support requests, providing timely and effective assistance via phone, email, ticketing systems and face-to-face support.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software and network issues.
  • Configure and deploy devices.
  • Support Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint.
  • Assist with account management and user access requests.
  • Help maintain accurate documentation.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding activities.
  • Monitor IT systems.
  • Work closely with colleagues to identify opportunities for service improvement.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in a 1st Line IT Support role.
  • Strong hands-on experience of Microsoft 365 (O365) administration, Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager and Windows 11.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Windows desktop technologies.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach to work.

Interviews are expected to take place week commencing the 5th of October.
