The Company
Our client is an established UK IT solutions provider with over 30 years' experience specialising in data protection, backup, storage management, disaster recovery and ransomware solutions. They work with a diverse customer base, including large enterprise organisations, public sector bodies and multinational corporations, providing and integrating leading technology solutions to protect critical business data.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an ambitious and commercially driven IT Account Manager to help develop new business and strengthen existing customer relationships across the UK.
The Role
This is a new-business-focused IT sales role, combining business development with account management and relationship building.
You will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, engaging with prospective customers and taking opportunities through the full sales cycle. You'll work closely with technical teams and vendor partners to understand customer requirements and develop appropriate solutions around backup, recovery and data protection.
The successful candidate will be commercially driven, confident speaking with customers and comfortable generating opportunities through proactive outbound sales activity.

Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across target organisations.
- Generate opportunities through phone, email, LinkedIn/social media and face-to-face meetings.
- Manage the full sales process from initial prospecting through to closing.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors and internal teams.
- Respond quickly and effectively to inbound/company-generated leads.
- Work with senior management and technical specialists to develop solutions that meet customer requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities and activities within HubSpot.
- Manage sales pipelines and provide accurate sales forecasts.
- Work with vendor partners to register and maximise sales opportunities.
- Manage commercial, contractual and operational aspects of opportunities.
- Attend customer meetings and travel to client sites where required.
- Consistently achieve an annual £100,000 new-business gross margin target.
About You
We are looking for an experienced B2B IT sales professional with a proven track record of generating and closing new business.
Ideally, you will have experience selling IT infrastructure, software or managed/technical services, with a strong understanding of the data protection, backup, storage or disaster recovery market. Experience selling solutions from one or more of the following vendors would be highly advantageous:
- Veeam
- Commvault
- Cohesity
- NetApp
- EverPure

You should also have:
- Proven experience in new business development and account management.
- A track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
- The ability to understand technical solutions and communicate their business value to customers.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive and self-motivated approach to sales.
- The confidence and persistence to conduct regular outbound prospecting.
- Experience managing a sales pipeline and CRM system.

- £45,000–£55,000 basic salary
- Uncapped commission
- Hybrid working – 3 days office / 2 days remote
- Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm
