Location: Manchester Airport
Employment: Full-time
Work schedule: 4 on 4 off from 7am - 7pm/7pm - 7am + Shift Allowance £2700

As an Airport Engineer with ESP Global Services, you’ll support the technology that helps keep airports, airlines and passenger operations moving. From check-in and boarding to baggage processing and automated border control, your work will have a visible impact on a complex, 24/7 operation.
Build hands-on experience in troubleshooting, incident management, hardware, infrastructure, and customer support while learning in a fast-paced technology environment. No airport experience required—we’ll provide training. We’re looking for strong technical foundations, problem-solving skills, curiosity, and a desire to grow.

What you’ll do
- Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot airport passenger processing and baggage systems.
- Support check-in, boarding, self-service kiosks, automated bag drop, eGates and baggage reconciliation systems.
- Diagnose hardware, software and peripheral issues, including scanners, printers, passport readers and biometric devices.
- Monitor system performance, respond to incidents and restore services quickly.
- Work with airlines, airport operations, baggage teams and technology vendors to resolve technical issues.
- Support system upgrades, testing, deployments and airport technology projects.
- Maintain technical documentation and follow airport security, safety and cybersecurity requirements.
- Participate in shift and on-call support to help maintain 24/7 airport operations.
Requirements
What you’ll bring
Essential
- Experience supporting Windows 10/11 environments.
- Hardware installation, configuration and break/fix experience.
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
- Experience supporting IT hardware and peripherals such as printers, scanners and barcode readers.
- Ability to prioritise incidents and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Willingness to work shifts, including nights and weekends.
- A genuine interest in technology and a willingness to learn.

Airport experience? Not required.
Airport Technology Experience Is a Bonus—not a Requirement.
We’re interested in what you can bring and what you can become. Full training is provided on specialist airport technologies, including CUPPS, CUSS, BRS, automated bag drop and eGate systems.
