About The Role
The IT Analyst role at Hays is a vital part of the organization’s ongoing commitment to providing exceptional IT support and maintaining robust technology infrastructure. This position involves working within a multi-site educational environment, supporting a diverse user base that includes staff, students, and apprentices. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering first and second-line technical support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring the stability and security of IT services. Working closely with the wider IT team across two campuses, the IT Analyst will manage service tickets, prioritize incidents, and escalate issues when necessary to ensure minimal disruption to daily operations. Additionally, the role includes proactive maintenance tasks such as system updates, asset management, and implementing IT security protocols. The IT Analyst will also contribute to IT projects, support continuous improvement initiatives, and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment aimed at enhancing the overall technological capabilities of the organization.

Qualifications
- Relevant IT support experience, preferably within an educational or similar environment.
- A strong foundation in first and second-line support.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a customer-oriented approach.
- An IT qualification such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Experience working on a service desk, managing support tickets, and familiarity with IT service management systems.
- Excellent communication skills, the ability to build effective relationships with users, and a proactive attitude towards learning and development.
- Knowledge of network infrastructure, cybersecurity best practices, and hardware deployment.
Responsibilities
- Provide first and second-line support to staff, students, and apprentices across multiple sites, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
- Manage and update support tickets within the IT service management system, ensuring timely resolution and proper escalation of complex issues.
- Maintain and enhance the organization's IT infrastructure through routine system updates, asset management, and equipment deployment.
- Implement and adhere to IT security protocols to protect organizational data and systems.
- Assist in the planning and execution of IT projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations.
- Identify recurring issues and trends, providing recommendations for process improvements.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and user guides to support ongoing operations and training.
- Support and mentor junior team members, sharing knowledge and fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Participate in proactive maintenance activities and contribute to the continuous improvement of IT services.
