Salary: £27,500
Hours: Full-time
Location: The role can be undertaken remotely within the UK with occasional travel to London/other locations in the UK for events and team activities.

We are an independent, non-profit organisation responsible for the Retail Energy Code — a key part of how the GB retail energy market is regulated.

What You’ll Be Doing
As RECCo grows, we are building our internal technical capability and need an enthusiastic IT professional at the start of their career to help keep our internal IT running smoothly and support the colleagues who rely on it every day.
This is a development role. You will learn on the job through real work, supported by experienced colleagues, developing the technical and service-management skills to grow your career in IT. A key part of the role is helping us get the best from our managed IT service provider, by supporting the day-to-day relationship and making sure the service we receive is reliable, secure and good value.
Your Responsibilities
- Act as a friendly first point of contact for internal IT queries, helping colleagues resolve day-to-day technology issues or routing them to the right place
- Support the day-to-day relationship with our managed IT service provider, helping track requests, tickets, incidents and service performance
- Help monitor service levels and service quality against agreed standards, chasing progress and following issues through to resolution
- Maintain accurate records of IT assets, software licences, user accounts and access
- Manage access to internal IT systems and services.
- Support colleague onboarding and offboarding, including account setup and equipment and access provisioning
- Help administer core business and collaboration tools, such as Microsoft 365
- Support good IT security practice, including access reviews, multi-factor authentication and device compliance, with guidance
- Assist with small IT projects and improvements, helping gather requirements and document outcomes
- Create clear, simple documentation, user guides and knowledge-base articles for colleagues
- Identify opportunities to improve internal IT processes and ways of working as part of our continuous improvement approach
- Build your knowledge and skills on the job, with support and coaching from colleagues across the team

About You
- A degree in an IT, computing or related subject, or equivalent qualification, experience or demonstrable interest
- A genuine enthusiasm for technology and a desire to build a career in IT
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a logical, methodical approach
- Excellent communication skills, able to explain technology clearly and patiently to non-technical colleagues
- Well organised, able to prioritise and follow tasks through to completion
- Self-motivated, proactive and keen to learn
- A collaborative, helpful manner and strong interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working with a range of colleagues and with an external service provider
Ideally, knowledge of (or a keenness to learn):
- Microsoft 365 and common business and collaboration tools
- IT service management and the ITIL framework
- Basic networking, cloud concepts (for example Azure) and cyber security fundamentals
- Working with, or helping to manage, third-party IT suppliers
- Scripting or automation (for example PowerShell), a nice-to-have, not essential
