About The Role
We are seeking an experienced IT Application Support Analyst with a strong background in SQL, Azure, and the Power Platform to join a prominent UK financial services organization. This role is based in London with a hybrid working model, offering a unique opportunity to support critical business applications used across Investment Management, Operations, Risk, Finance, and Compliance departments. As part of the Production Support team, you will be responsible for maintaining the stability, performance, and integrity of a diverse range of applications and integrations within a complex technology environment.
This hands-on technical position involves investigating and resolving complex production issues, analyzing application and data flows, troubleshooting system integrations, and collaborating closely with developers, business users, and third-party vendors. Your expertise will ensure that the organization’s core systems operate seamlessly, enabling the business to deliver exceptional services to its clients.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise and practical experience in application support within a financial services environment. Strong proficiency in SQL, particularly SQL Server, is essential, along with experience supporting applications in Azure and cloud-based environments. Familiarity with Azure Integration Services (AIS), Power Platform (including Power Apps and Power Automate), Snowflake, and system integrations via REST APIs is highly desirable. Candidates with knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics, Windows Server, Oracle, Power BI, and scripting tools like VBA will have an added advantage.

While not mandatory, relevant certifications such as ITIL or practical knowledge of Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes are beneficial. Previous experience supporting financial applications such as Iress, XPLAN, or similar platforms, especially within regulated environments, will be viewed favorably.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive production and application support for critical financial services systems, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
- Investigate and resolve technical incidents, application defects, and production issues promptly, utilizing SQL and other diagnostic tools.
- Analyze complex application and data flows, troubleshooting system integrations, APIs, interfaces, and data feeds to identify root causes.
- Support applications operating within Azure and Microsoft technology environments, including Azure Integration Services and Power Platform solutions.
- Collaborate with development teams to support releases, updates, patches, and configuration changes in a controlled manner.
- Monitor system performance proactively, identifying potential issues before they impact business operations.
- Manage and troubleshoot application workflows, configurations, and data platforms such as Snowflake.
- Engage with third-party vendors and external technology providers to resolve complex issues and optimize system performance.
- Maintain detailed incident, problem, and change records, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and best practices.
- Work closely with internal infrastructure teams to implement improvements and support evolving technology needs.
